Technical specifications of log homes
The Dores Factory produces the entire beam systems for the houses – the base ring, walls, ceiling beams, as well as floors deck planks, internal and external timber trim, as well as the entire roofing structure.
Timber buildings set the standards for heat insulation as the cellular structure of timber grains gives it natural insulating properties that are better than any other construction material. In winter inhabitants of timber houses do not suffer from the cold and in summer they are protected from extreme heat. Dores homes are protected from excessive moisture, frost and wind by their special patented corner joints.
Our patented corner joint, or the City Joint
It’s a log house, but without the protruding overlap corners because the log beams end in the joint. These corner joints have a unique rain and wind barrier built into them and the Dores Factory holds the patent to this innovation.
The Dores Factory’s patented corner joint uses 10% less timber materials, as the corners have no protruding beam-ends. Less timber used in production will also costs you less!
The simple cross corner joint
The most common type of log beam corner joint which allows also for a more rapid turnover in production.
